PALs, presented by Sprungsters, is an emotional and dynamic performance in commemoration of WW1 combining dance and raw physicality to explore the true stories of the PALs regiments from Coventry and Warwickshire, and the experiences of young people at war.
PALs follows the story of a group of Coventry friends whose friendship is tested and torn apart by their experiences of war. Told from the perspective of a conscientious objector PALs examines the impact of the war on the lives of the young people who gave up everything for King and country.
Supported by live music from the Stratford Festival Orchestra. The Stratford Festival Orchestra was founded by Ray Coyte in 2015. Simon Kemp Is the Conductor and Musical Director of the Stratford Festival Orchestra.
Highlights for the orchestra have included; performing a Beatles-Sergeant Peppers programme in Liverpool and recorded at Abbey Road, They have performed concerts of the music of ELVIS presley scored for an orchestra and with an award winning ELVIS tribute artist.
They regularly perform Simon Kemp's own classical arrangements of pop and rock hits they call Baroque and Roll. They are currently working on a concert celebrating the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and Michael Buble.
Sprungsters is a performance group directed by Highly Sprung for Coventry’s most talented young physical performers. Sprungsters offers weekly classes for young people combining drama, speech and movement to produce a very physical approach to theatre making.
Powerful provocative physical theatre, Highly Sprung produces projects that inspire change. Developing ambitious, accessible work with & for new audiences with a focus on children & young people, creating physical performance that is dynamic, exciting & bold.

Highly Sprung delivers participation, education, performance, artist training and art form development working with over 10,000 children and young people each year.
